Quality as well as quantity

filterJust as it is important to drink the recommended quantity of water each day, let's not forget the importance of the quality of water we drink. Although any one glass of water looks pretty much the same as the next, its smell and the taste can often give us clues as to its quality. But what about the other contaminants and chemicals in water that we cannot smell or taste?

You may be surprised to learn that the water we receive through our mains supply is rather good water. After all, each water authority is required by law to undertake hundreds of tests to ensure that the water we drink is as safe as it can be, whereas in some cases the same cannot be said of bottled waters as the bottled water industry is not yet governed by such stringent regulation. However, to ensure our mains water is largely free of the bacteria and pathogens before we drink it, chlorine has to be added, which is what gives our mains supply the taste and smell we dislike so much. Chlorination only kills the bacteria so we are effectively drinking a large number of dead micro organisms, which is equally as unpleasant.

Selsius can offer you the perfect solution!

filterBy taking the water received through the mains supply, it is then filtered using a WRAS approved Doulton Ceramic filtration system which is housed within the cooler (see diagram below). As they are manufactured from natural elements they do not add anything to the water they filter and contain trace elements of silver which inhibits any microbiological growth.

Our water coolers therefore only supply you with wholesome, pure and honest water. Once filtered, the water you drink is more than 99% free of all contaminants and pathogens and therefore suitable for children, the elderly and the immuno-compromised.

The filter removes:

  • The taste and smell of chlorine
  • Pathogenic Bacteria
  • Cryptosporidium and Giardia and other cysts
  • Rust particles from old pipe work
  • Reduces scale build up

Whilst preserving the health benefiting minerals and our ultracarb filter has the added capability of removing lead and other heavy metals.
